CBTA Motorcycle Training - Restricted & Full

CBTA (Competency-based training and Assessment)

Reduces the period to gain your Restricted and Full motorbike licences by up to 6 months each.

How do I go about it?

The first step is to pass the basic skills handling test (done by us) then pass the Class 6 Learners theory test at any driver licencing agent.

From there you are recommended to take a Ride Forever course subsidised by ACC (we provide these courses in conjunction with Ornsby Motorcycle Training) a $20.00 Bronze course is aimed to help you gain the skills to pass the Restricted assessment.

How does it work?

The process from Learner to Restricted

The preocess from Restricted to Full

What happens?

CBTA assessments are on the road with town and higher speed limited covered.

The Restricted assessment is about 1 hour but allow up to 2hrs to meet and debrief.

The full assessment is about half an hour but allow 1½ hours to meet and debrief.

What do I need?

You will need to have the use of a Lams (Learner approved motorcycles) motorbike for assessments and training and current licence to suit the course you wish to take.

Note: Lams list can be found on the NZTA website.

After I have my full Motorbike Licence….

ACC can provide you a ride forever Gold course to lift your riding to the next level $50.00 for a full day training.
