Heavy Traffic Class 3 Licence

Drivetech Ltd can help drivers looking to move into medium combination vehicles and take the next step in heavy traffic licensing. A Class 3 licence allows you to operate a medium combination vehicle, making it an important licence for drivers working in transport, contracting, and a wide range of heavy vehicle industries.

A holder of a Class 3 Learner or Full Licence can drive:

A combination vehicle with a gross combination weight (GCW) of more than 12,000kg but less than 25,001kg

Any vehicle covered under Class 1 and Class 2

About the Course

If you are interested in obtaining a Class 3 Licence, there are a number of pathways available depending on your current licence class and the type of heavy vehicle work you intend to do.

In some cases, it is possible to complete the Heavy Traffic Class 5 Licence and have the Class 3 Licence awarded at the same time once the Class 5 has been successfully completed. This can be a practical option for drivers planning to progress further through heavy traffic licensing and wanting to streamline the process.

Because training options can vary, we recommend getting in touch with the Drivetech team to discuss the best pathway for your situation and experience level.

Licence Overview
